I’m Leia.

I studied poetry at University of Colorado Denver and Virginia Commonwealth University, where I was also managing editor for Copper Nickel, and then lead associate editor at Blackbird: an online journal of literature and art. I’ve been writing and editing professionally for 15 years. My career has taken me to the classroom, the fashion world, and the finance industry. Right now, I work full time as a copywriter for an agency (not available for freelance work). I also run a small, free community writing workshop that builds on former academic courses, offered twice a month to local writers with interest.
